    EncodedProductAnchor question

    Hi All,

We use the "using extended information pop up as a full page" method for a shop we look after to get a page per product etc.

On this page we use a link that takes the use back to the section page at the anchor point of the product. Using the <Actinic:Variable Name="EncodedProductAnchor"/> after the section page name in the link etc.

This works well. Apart from if the product is duplicated as it were in a Special offers section. If this is the case then the <Actinic:Variable Name="EncodedProductAnchor"/> adds some ectra code to the anchor - so

    link.html#a1234
    becomes
    link.html#a3_311234

Why would Actinic be putting in the extra 3_31 etc ? And can we stop it doing this?

      Thanks Peblaco

OK, so it seems we cant use the variable EncodedProductAnchor in the extended layout as it will not cope with duplicated products.

There is mention in the thread you linked to that there is another way to achieve the same maybe using the SearchScript.pl .

But having issues finding that article in the KB as the links no longer work - trawling through.....

Hi Peblaco - I had a look at that method.

Is there a variable for showing the Prod ref number that could be included in that link? And this ref would not change (as is the case for EncodedProductAnchor) if the product is duplicated elsewhere ?

Or, as you say - there may be a better way of doing this in V11 ....
