    Homepage & .index.html

I'm just adding text to my Page Title & Meta Description fields to the "Home" and "Online Catalogue" and notice that they both have the page name .index.html but show different pages.

Does anyone know why this is or if it's correct?

Also, the "Online Catalogue" shows the url in the browser www.piratepartysupplies.co.uk/shop/
no mention of the .index.html anywhere - weird or correct?

You'll usually have a default page (typically index.html) for the home page and any subdirectories that you use. In your case I assume you have one for the root directory and one for the /shop/ subdirectory.

It's common practice not to use the page name when linking to the default directory page. For example when linking to your website home you normally just link to www.yoururl.co.uk and don't bother with the /index.html bit. The advantages of doing it this way are that a) it's shorter and easier for people to remember and b) you can always change it later without having to put redirects in place.
