    SEO question

WE use attribut's for colour variations on our products ie product polo shirt attributes Colours red, Blue etc

What is the best way for SEO purposes so that someone searching say "red polo shirt" would find us using natural listings assuming meta descriptions are not used these days by search engines

    Using V11

The only way you're going to appear anywhere significant in the SERPS for 'red polo shirt' is if you have a page about red polo shirts.

One or two occurrences on a page just aren't going to do it. No matter what you do to them.

They won't be Chris no, you would have to create pages for red polo shirts to have it indexed and then you could also use them to offer shop by colour for example.

          Thanks Lee

The trouble with that is with some products having 40 colour options and even the basic ones having about 5 my database would grow massively and management time increase in proportion

From adwords results I don't think many put in the search "red Polo shirt" rather "Polo Shirt" so I do not see it as to much of a disadvantage at present, but just something that may bring in a few more sales so worth thinking about.

The site anyway has quite good search facilities, at first glance better than V12 examples, but that may change with the skills of you guys

The auto sections V12 can do might come into play for you here i imagine, where the pages get auto created and maintained for you. Worth a look at least.
