Quantity order generating an area calculation

Hi there,

I have done a search on this but have not found relevant answer, it isn't helped by the fact you could right the same question numerous ways.

Most of my products have an area related to them, if you order one unit, it will take up certain amount of area, 2 units of course it would double it.

I would like to use a customer var to allocate the area in metre squared and then when they enter a quantity to order, this quantity can trigger an area calculation.

In my case I talking plants but this could also before wall tiles or paint, order 1 box of wall tiles and it would cover 2.5m2. Like tiles, different plants would cover different area, hence the customer var to make the value linked to the product.

Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

Norman at Drillpine has done similar things to this, I suggest you cantact him and explore possibilities. The solution would proably need to be javascript, custom vars are only used by the SellerDeck desktop application to generate the pages prior to upload.
