    Corrupt Database

I'm getting this message when trying to open Sellerdeck
SellerDeck failed to open the database DSN=ActinicCatalog11.
The database may be corrupt or the version may be newer than expected.
    This prevents SellerDeck working.

    The error was:

Cannot open database '(unknown)'. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.
    Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed

Please refer to the troubleshooting section in the MU Installation and User guide for possible solutions.
I expect I will have to go back to the last snapshot but can't get beyond this message in order to load the last snapshot.

    Can anyone help please

I suggest you back up well, reinstall SellerDeck, then reinstate your database. Make sure you copy the contents of your site folder as well as your snapshots and also that you install the same specific version.

If you have Access then try and open the actinic.mdb file in the site file and when opened use the Access repair facility to repair it

Save in old format think 2003, but do not update to new format

        Hi Duncan

Thanks for the reply. I have backed everything up and reinstalled Sellerdeck but i'm not sure what you mean by reinstate the database. Can you explain how to do it please.

Thanks for the reply Chris, but that sounds far to techy for me. I'm only a normal user not a developer.

Chris Ashdown's suggestion is easier to implement than you might think, Chris, and could well solve your problem if you do indeed have a copy of Microsoft Access.

Simply browse to the location of your actinic.mdb file on your computer, right-click on it, then select 'Open With... Microsoft Access'

Once Access has opened, select Tools - Database Utilities - Compact and Repair Database from the menu along the top of the screen (the path may differ slightly depending on your version of Access, but it should still be relatively easy to find... the Repair Database option is what you're looking for)

Chris' reference to saving the file in 'old format' is important, and simply means that if your own copy of Access offers you an option somewhere along the line to update or upgrade your actinic.mdb file to a newer version of Access, then you should decline this. Instead save your actinic.mdb file in its original Access 2000 or 2003 format.

All this of course is dependent on you having a working copy of Access to hand, but if you do it could solve your issue and be a real time-saver. The procedure doesn't require any particular technical knowledge or skills. Worth a try!

Thanks to everyone who replied. I don't have Access and ended up sending the database to SellerDeck support who were able to fix it very promptly.
