    Just Changed Hosts..

    Hi,

I have just changed hosts recently and am getting a couple of 404 errors, the pages are there on my software, and when i upload, these 2 single pages don't send to the host. I have contacted the host and they say that the 2 pages have never been on the server logs and there wouldn't be anything stopping them from uploading them on there side?

Has anyone had the same problem before?

If you need to have a look, my website is wwwdotsexshopstoresdotcodotuk

The pages I am having problems with are on the right hand side of the homepage - Returns and Deliveries

    Thanks

    Hi William,

The pages are there all right... you just need to take note of the fact that the URL is case-sensitive:

Click on the links from your site, then change the URL in your browser by capitalising the R of Return and the D of Delivery and you will see the pages on the server

    http://www.sexshopstores.co.uk/acata...turn-info.html

    http://www.sexshopstores.co.uk/acata...very-info.html

Once you've satisfied yourself that they actually exist then you can track down the cause of this by looking closely at your links, etc.

As a general rule Windows servers tend to disregard case when dealing with URL's, whilst Linux/Unix setups are much more intolerant.

You've maybe switched from a Windows host, and that is why the issue has only suddenly 'appeared' as it were? Easy to sort though

you may have gone from a host with http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_speling.html to one without, this little thing would have hidden the upper/lowercase issues in your file names (pages). You can ask your host to install this or check if it's available but its probably good practice to only ever use lowercase in names.
