Displaying one Section Description throughout the all Sub Sections

    Afternoon Everyone,
We are building a site for a client and the moment and are proposing an area at the top of the page for the client to enter information about the overall section via the Section Description variable. There are a number of subsections within the top level section so we wanted to try to make the content inputting easy for the client.

Does anyone know of a way to allow content, which is entered at the top level section, to display also down within the subsections as well, thus over writing the sub section Section Description variable?

    - Top Level Section (Content A)
    -- Sub Section 1 (Content A Clone)
    -- Sub Section 2 (Content A Clone)
    -- Sub Section 3 (Content A Clone)

Any thoughts on this are appreciated.
    Regards.

You could add a custom variable which would then allow cascading from parent to child. Crreate the new variable and add it into the section layout in the same position as the existing description.

      Hi Duncan,
Thanks for your suggestion. I jut realised that I didn't elaborate on how much content we were going to allow the client to use. We envisaged using Normans Tabber System, which would allow multiple tabs of content to be displayed such as Location, Opening Times, etc.

We could still do this and use our variable within Norman's Tabber plugin, which may work. The only issue I forsee is the size of the text field to enter the text, plus the amount of text allowed to be entered.

(Side note Do you know if its possible to change a variable from a text field to a text area format, to allow for more viewing real estate.
      Regards.

No, but if you want to use it to contain more than a line of text then you could use a file content type variable and then use notepad to enter/edit text for the variable.
