Variable in Customer Group

Hi, I want to add a variable that only one specific Customer Group could see.

So I want 3 customer groups, trade, retail and warehouse.

I want warehouse to see a custom variable when logged in, but for it not to be visible to the other groups, if logged in or not.

The Advanced guide has something useful on 2Hiding Elements from Retail Customers, but Showing Them to ALL Registered Customers" page 101 of the AG I have. But this doesn't quite work because once people seem to be logged in they can see the variable from whatever group they are in.

Any thoughts?

The problem with that one is that I don't want to create any more sections to the site. I want it to look exactly the same in terms of navigation/management etc, but just have this one custom variable this is visible.
