Importing products problem - extended info pages

Hi folks,

We are having trouble when importing products from a hierarchical csv file getting the extended info pages to work correctly. The pages are being created, the box marked "Create extended info page" is being ticked ok and the extended image is also being imported ok. So the pages themselves are all being created just fine and dandy.

The problem is getting links to the extended pages from the product page. No matter what we try we cant seem to get those activated. We want the product image to be clickable and also the product name to be clickable (To show the extended pages)

The fields we have tried are:
Display By Image = 1
Clicking Product Image In Product List = 1
Clicking Product Image on Product Page = 1
Clicking Product Name In Product List = 1

I think our csv file could very well be a little messy by now too. I'm not sure what to do next, does anyone have any ideas?

Standard MOTO Product Layout looks wrong. That's the layout for use by the built-in MOTO mode. You should be using a normal Product Layout.

Those fields - Standard Moto Product - Do not have a header at the top of the file. Does that mean that i can delete those? there are quite a few other columns of data in there that dont have a header to define them, can i delete all of those do you know? It would simplify the file quite a bit.

Ok so Ive simplified the csv file quite a bit. (Sorry Norman I should have tried that without asing you!) Its now importing the 4 test products without an error. The product image is now a link as required, BUT it links to the same page, itself, rather than the extended info page:

Same goes for the Product Name, that is now a link but lke the image, links to the page it is already on rather than the ext. info page.

Hmmm, does anyone have any ideas on what im doing wrong?

Still trying to get this import to work correctly. Im suck at getting the extended info links to import correctly.

The best ive managed so far is to get the product image, and the product name to be created as links, BUT, for some reason the links are null, they are empty - <a href=""> Instead of <a href="pagename.html">

Can anyone shed any light on why this is happening?

Also, some of the "Valid fields for importing" as listed in the help file, seem to be Invalid fields! For example these fields that are listed in the help file do not map to any Actinic field on import:

Display By Button
Display By Link
Display By Image

The fields that are working and creating those null links are:
Clicking Product Image in Product List
Clicking Product Name in Product List

But those 2 are not listed in the Valid Fields For Importing help article!

Its so confusing! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp (please!)

Ok I've had a little breakthrough (At last!!)

It turns out that the fields you needed to use in order to create the extended info links need must have a number 2 as the switch, not as I thought a number 1. I had thought that a 0 under those headers would create no links and a 1 would create the links. But, it seems that a 1 will create null links, when you use a 2 it creates the links fully! Hooray!!

Also, these fields as listed in the help file under "Valid fields for importing" are in fact INVALID.

Those 3 dont work. Help file needs updating there it would seem

Anyway, it looks like im in the clear at last and good to go on my 6000 product import adventure. Ill post back anything relevant i find out in case it helps anyone else
