Creating Gift Voucher

I can't quite work out how to generate a gift voucher that will work if the value that the customer purchases is less than the gift voucher amount that I generated.

I want to generate a gift voucher code for a customer to use worth £175.00 so I've followed the steps that I found on this thread:

But when I try to use it (the value in the cart being slightly less than £175.00) it comes up with the error msg:

'You will receive £175.00 discount if your cart value exceeds £175.00'

Apologies if I'm missing something very simple - Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

The discount does not work as partial payment.

Thanks for your reply! Ah ok that makes sense if it won't allow it to be a negative amount as I originally tired the Cart Value to £0.01 and the Amount to £175.00 which it didnt like at all but seemed logical to me. How am I best to use gift vouchers if people buy them off my website? By £0.00 do you mean when the customer uses the voucher if it's less than the £175 it will will reduce the remainder to £0? That would be fine if so.

As an aside, does the latest version of Sellerdeck have a better soloution for gift vouchers?

You would not be able to do that through a software setting. It may be possible through custom work.
