    Shipping Supplement not working

    Hello all ,

A client of our has a V11 store.

They have their shipping set at Free for any orders over £100

But they have one range of products that they wish to charge £12 for - and these items are all over £100 in value.

So, on the product details they have entered the £12.00 on the Details section as a Shipping supplement.

But if one of these items is selected, during checkout it is still showing the standard delivery option, and this being £0 as the order value is over £100.

This is also true if they select the "Exclude from shipping band calculation"

Any clues as to what is either wrong, or set incorrectly?

    Many thanks

    Grant

Any ideas what would be stopping Supplemental shipping charges from showing ?

OK, it seems to work and apply the shipping supplement to zones where there would normally be a charge. And I choose to opt out of the shipping band for this particular product and charge the supplement.

But if the customer is in a zone where is free shipping over £100 and the item falls into this category - then I can not Exclude it from the zone and apply the supplement ??

      What could be the issue?

I see there is this forum post

        http://community.sellerdeck.com/showthread.php?t=34128

It confirms that at least at that time you were not able to override a free shipping over a certain amount.

Is this still the case nowadays?

it does describe using weights and tiers to fudge it.

The issue I have is that there are over 5000 products in this shop - only about 17 of them need to have the shipping supplement applied.

Surely there is a way this can be done??

The "Free over" global setting applies to all shipping, or you can do rates by zone / class.

            Cheers Peblaco,

            So:-

In Business settings we have a shipping Zone called UK Mainland. there are bands here based on weight. But "Orders in this Zone/Class free over £100" is selected.

On the actual product we have on the details tab we have Exclude from Shipping band calculation - and have set a Shipping Supplement of £12.00

What you are saying is that the "Orders in this Zone/Class free over" setting for the selected Zone is over-riding and takes no notice of "Exclude from Shipping band calculation."

So, I cannot put in a fictitious weight of 123456kg and charge £12 for it - as the item is over £100 value and that would be overridden, meaning that it would be free again.

I can exclude the free over £100 in the product and use the supplement.

So, I have to remove the free over £100 - and then change the shipping data for all by changing the shipping basis from KG to value. But that would not work for the client as they are charged by their shipping agent by weight......

There seems to be no way to have a particular item that is over a certain value charged a certain amount - if you want to have the rest of the shop having a free over a £100 value....

I don't understand why it cant just be the case that you can set a shipping value for a specific item in the item details and ignore the global settings. The option is there for it - but only selectively

You could contact SellerDeck and ask.

                Cheers Peblaco

I have contacted Sellerdeck to see if the Exclude from Shipping Band should exclude the product from all Shipping band calculations - not just most of them.

Other than that will have to fudge it by setting things up differently.

                  Just an update.

Following Sellerdeck playing with our snapshot etc, it seems that you cannot add a supplement to a shipping rate that is already subject to a Free Over.

The only way to add a supplement in this case is to make a product called Shipping Supplement and attach it to the product concerned.
