    Excluding products from a search

    Hi there,

Is there any way to exclude an individual product from the search?

This was first raised years ago, back in the days of Version 6, and I placed this question back in version 9 but got no responses.

As far as I can see, it hasn't been resolved so I wonder if:
    a) there is any news on likelihood of an option being added to Actinic to 'Exclude product from Search'.
    b) it has been resolved, and I don't know how, or
    c) anyone has a workaround.
    Kind regards,
    Phil Benjamin

You can exclude keywords from a search in the Settings under Search Settings and excluded words. Also see patching Perl or using duplicates.

      It works

      Thanks for your response.

It turns out that the 'duplicates' method works perfectly well for me, so it's solved for me.

However, anyone who needs their duplicates indexed will not be able to use this technique.
      Kind regards,

It can be done. Searching the Community using your very own thread title Excluding products from a search will quickly lead you to http://community.sellerdeck.com/showthread.php?t=13259.

And it's also in the Knowledge Base under Script Changes / Search at http://community.sellerdeck.com/showthread.php?t=45114

          I was there!

...and that is the thread that I added my question to, the first time around back in 2009 (it's the last post on that thread).

I was hoping that by then (four years after the original post) a solution had been implemented in the program without having to use Perl. It seems it still hasn't (although I don't know about 13).
          Kind regards,
          Phil Benjamin
