How to bulk-apply component options to ranges of products? (via database is fine)

Has anyone ever successfully done this?

I have a component with options 1-10 and it needs to be applied to thousands of products, so I'm looking to formulate a query in Access to assign it to a list of product IDs.. Thought it would be worth asking here for any successful experiences with this?

Consider doing this via a Hierarchical Import.

Do File / Export and this will export your site to a textfile. Look at this file and see the difference between a product with / without the component.

You could then use Excel or a text-editor (one with regular expression capabilities - I use notepad++) to add the necessary lines to all Product lines.

Then File / Import to get the new data in.

Backup ActinicCatalog.mdb first!
