Strange behaviour with Single Price Permutation

Hi. We use price permutations on our site. We have as standard 3 or 4 permutations to allow customers to buy our fabrics in different sizes. An example is:

    http://www.secretgardenquilting.co.u...ow-1225-X.html

As products get low on stock we reduce the visible permutations until only 1 is left (using the "valid" check box in permutations rather than deleting the other permutations).

At this point a strange behaviour occurs. When there is more than 1 permutation the first permutation is selected as default so if you just press "add to cart" you will buy 1 * this option. When there is only 1 permutation then nothing is defaulted and if you press "add to Cart" you get an error message saying that you cant order because it is out of stock (but shows blank product name in the message). If you go in and manually select the single available option it works fine. An example of this is:

    http://www.secretgardenquilting.co.u...gs-1145-G.html

The question is how can we get the product to still default to the single option so the error doesn't occur?

    Many thanks

    Tony

This sounds like a bug in the code to me.

It might be possible to manually set the checked status in the layouts for the first element, but I couldn't say for sure. You'll need to take a look and see if you can figure it out.

An alternative would be to set it in javascript. You'd need to pick up the variable ID and then set the check box. This will give you a starting point:

There are some members of the forum who could probably do this for you. Try contacting Norman at Drillpine.biz if you want to go down that route.

thank you for the feedback. i have had an open ticket with Sellerdeck on the <p> problem since 11.05 was released. They have the details and the site snapshot it only started at that point. it does not appear in the code. Unfortunately sellerdeck have not responded apart from the initial request for the snapshot. i have chased on multiple occasions. Dont know where to go with it really.

Please could someone confirm that a product with a single price permutation actually does default. correctly asi am unable to get it to work. This would really help as if the problem is actually a "feature" of sellerdeck it could saveme days of hunting for my error.

        many thanks tony

Agreed and I have tried to escalate but as I only have a hosting contact (rather than a support contact) I cant get anyone to escalate or respond. I currently have another more pressing live issue http://community.sellerdeck.com/show...306#post346306 that I am hoping to have more luck getting some explanation of what the error message means from Sellerdeck support (and maybe even some pointers in solving). Thank you again. Tony
