How can I list and item in 2 discount groups?

I have a group of items that currently get 10% off when added to the cart. I want to do a special coupon for all products for 10% off. So the group that always gets 10% off, I want to get an additional 10% off if they use the coupon. Is this possible. When I try to put them in the new group it asks if I want to move from the old group and I don't want to do that.

Unfortunately you can only have a product in one group.
