Just ftp'd the acd up to su[pprt now so will see how it goes.

Just to clarify, if anyone else is facing this issue, I have now managed to get the site to export via clean layout #1 snapshot V7 and import successfully into V8.

Once inside V8 there are no layout or properties tabs for any of the pages, fragments or products.
