confused - what version do i need

i have v7 business at the moment.

As a cover customer i am getting a free upgrade to v8 business great.

I want to create another 2 sites and don't know what products I need to purchase.

Am i right in thinking that the new v8 designer is the same as the old v7 developer i.e you can create multiple sites with 1 licence ???

Are you then able to download orders etc to 1 pc or multiple pc's using the designer licence.

i.e
site 1 downloads to pc1
site 2 downloads tp pc 2

or site 1&2 download to pc 1

As far as I can see

If you are building multi sites for yourself then Business Multi Version is the kiddie (or whatever it is called)

For client sites you will need designer, then your client(or you) can purchase the license for this site at whatever level they require (cat or bus vers.)

i thought that business multi is business multiuser i.e. 1 site multiple users ??

There are three flavours of Business

Business (Single User, Single Site)
Business Multi Site (Single User, Multiple Sites)
Business Multi User (Multiple Order Processors, Multiple Sites)

I think los_design is referring to the middle one - Business Multi User.

With the old developer you can download and run all sites from one computer you just go to File and select the site you want to change to and it is loaded

You can also buy Jans software which I understand make life a lot easier but I do not have this

are you allowed to have this installed on multiple pc's ?

ie pc 1 controlls site 1

pc 2 controlls site 2

etc.

these pc's will all be at the same location

Not 100% about how that would work from a licensing point of view. Check with Actinic Sales on 0845 129 4800 what is possible.
