    Go Back on Checkout

    Hi,

I've just noticed a little problem with V8 and the checkout which didn't happen on V6 or V7.

During the checkout process if you click the back botton on Internet Explorer 7 you get the error 'Webpage has expired' on screen. I find this worrying as I think many customers press the back button on IE to change order details sometimes.

I know Actinc has a back button at the bottom of the screen which works fine, but why is the back button on Internet Explorer not working in Checkout on V8, as it did on V7 and V6?
    Regards,

    Les

      Thanks for your reply Duncan,

      But...

I've got V7 and V6 sites and have always pressed the IE back button on testing the Checkout and it has never happened before.

Try it here and place an order and go back in IE....

Above is a V7 site and the back button in IE works fine in checkout.

Above is a new TEST V8 site and the back button isn't working in IE at checkout.

          Les,

I've just tried both sites with IE 7 and on all occasions didn't get the ''Webpage has expired'

Perhaps someone else can try it for you.

          Regards,

          David

Thanks David and Duncan for testing this out.

It must be my IE 7 or something.
            Regards,

            Les

                Hi Malcom,

                Thanks for trying it out.

Did it expired on both sites or just the V8 one (second one on list).

In the 4 years I've been using Actinic, I've always gone back and forward with the 'Back/Forward' buttons on Internet Explorer' in checkout. So to find this as an error on V8 is a little strange. I need to test on more PC'S to confirm.
                Regards,

                Les

Just on V8 - I have noticed it on all the V8 sites I have played with so far but not reported it as a bug. I think it is more to do with ie settings than V8.

                    Hi Chris / Actinic,

Can you read this post as I really do feel this is a bug with V8.

I've done a test on V7 and V8 sites with Internet Explorer 6 and 7 and the 'back button' on IE works fine on V7 or V6 sites in the checkout area, but doesn't on any V8 sites (Webpage has expired).
                    Regards,

                    Les

                      Hi Les

I get the 'Page Expired' message on my v7 store as well as my v8 store when I click 'Back' on IE. How strange. Then when I go to your store, I can click the 'Back' button in IE on both your v7 and v8 stores and it works fine.

Could it be something to do with you having got Remember Me set for your v6 and v7 stores but not your v8? It must be something to do with privacy/cookie settings.
