    Understanding Sagelink

    Hi,

I need some help from anyone using sagelink.

I have sage which we use for our realworld store and would like to use it for the website as well so we only have one set of data and stock levels etc.

I assume that once you have set actinic up, you then use sagelink to set up all the stock (descriptions, prices, images etc etc) and keep track of the sales.

What happens when you have items like jewellery rings that are one item in actinic with size combinations, but 3 items in sage (each size is a seperate item).

Can you some how use a link table so that sagelink knows what products should be combined in actinic etc? e.g.

    Actinic < -- > Sage
    Silver Ring Ref 123 (Primary)
    Size A < -- > Silver Ring (Size A) Ref 123
    Size B < -- > Silver Ring (Size B) Ref 124
    Size C < -- > Silver Ring (Size C) Ref 125

Does Sagelink do this, if not, how do you deal with this?

    Thanks,
    Paul.

    Hi,

What you would have to do is set up these products in Actinic and tick the 'Hide on website' option to give each option a unique reference number. Make sure that you set the name that you want to display in the basket here and the price for the product.

On the main product that will display on the website, you would need to have a component, attribute and the choices set up. Then on the component you would go to the 'Permutations' tab and click the 'Fill List' button to list each choice in the grid. Under the 'Product' column set the relevant hidden product to the right choice. The 'Pricing' column should be set to 'Use Associated Product Prices'.

On the 'General' tab of the component, tick the 'Component as separate Order Line' option and then click 'OK'.

Click on the main product and on the 'general' tab you should see a 'Pricing Model'. Set this to 'Sum of Components Prices' and an option should appear for 'No order line for main product'. Tick this box.

This means that the displayed product is in effect ignored and the stock will be taken from the hidden products and these will be transferred to/from sage. You may need to set these products in the 'Product Reference Translation Table' of your sage profiles.

This is a bit fiddly but I'm afraid that it's the only way to do it in Actinic.
