snapshot warning, where am i going wrong

I am putting together a new site (possible replacement for current version 7 site) using version 8 and everytime I do a snapshot the following warning comes up

Warning: The HTML templates specify source files (with "SRC=" commands) that reside in directories other than the acatalog directory on the web site. Actinic can not handle these files and they are being omitted from the list of files to upload.

No source files in the templates should have a path. Store them in the site specific directory locally, and they will be uploaded to the Actinic web directory.

    Any ideas? Any one?

    Regards,

    Darron

The answer is there for you....

you are using path names within templates, thus the warnings...

You can prevent these warning messages by putting all files within site1, or leave them where they are and live with the messages

Can you give me a example of what you mean by path names, I am so useless at this, could be the reason why my current site is on its last legs!!

the path is the location of the file on your server

        i.e.

        www.yourdomain.co.uk/acatalog/theimage.jpg

Before loading any images up I created a images folder within the site 1 folder, is this likely to have caused the problem? if so, should I copy and paste the images straight into the site 1 folder and then delete the images folder?

          Any ideas?

            Hi Darron,

I used to get this problem because I was using an imported design from Dreamweaver and I had images inside a folder called 'images' within my Dreamweaver websites folder. Once I put the images into the root Dreamweaver folder (ie Dreamweaver Sites/Website Name instead of Dreamweaver Sites/Website Name/images) the warnings went away....for a while!

I now get the warning about 70% of the time but not all the time. This is probably because I have separate images folders within my Site1 directory. I checked with tech support and they said it was fine to use image folders in this way. In practice there are never any problems with uploading the site to the server, so my suggestion would be to tick the box 'don't show me this message again' next time you get the warning.

              Rob,

Thanks for that, I have take most of the design images out of the images folder and put them into the site 1 folder, and this leaves just the product images in the images folder, but still getting the same message, so I will probably take your advice, seems to be the best solution.

              Thanks,

              Darron
