    Customvar/Variable bug?

When upgradin the site v8 seems to be transferring all my customvar values to General instead of text. When I change them back in v8 to get the image to display it deletes every single customvar value from the database!!!! Major nightmare!

    Bug?

Dave - can you provide a more detailed description of what is happening please?

    General instead of text.
The default 'Type' for a user-definable variable is always 'Text'. There isn't an option for 'General'.

to get the image to display
Which image are you referring to?
deletes every single customvar value from the database
v8 doesn't have customvars any more - it has user-definable variables, which you can access via the 'Variables' tab in 'Design | Library'.

      Chris,

Sorry for poor explanation. I had a customvar which contained a tracking image file reference, for instance Department 'A' would have 'a.gif' as the customvar value. When the upgrade has gone through it has changed the customvar to a variable, but amended it from Text to File Content (not egeneral as i said before!) When I then go into change it back to Text it deletes all the references e.g 'a.gif' from the database.

Sorry I am just going on a few days holiday so probably won't be able to advise any further but I will try another upgrade when i get back and test it again.

If you change 'Type' to 'Filename' rather than 'File Content' it should still keep the reference to the file, but include the value correctly into the page.
