Cart Summary hidden behind quicksearch

I have a site that appears correct on the design tab, but on the content tab, in offline preview (and presumably online - but I have not uploaded this).

design.jpg shows how it looks on the design tab (perfect) and published.jpg shows the undesirable output on the content tab and in offline preview, and here is the related code.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this? Using Executive theme in V8.0.1 Beta

Bill - most likely a CSS issue - do you have any margin-top declared for the search <div>

May also be worth clearing the cart / login <div> to ensure the search is on its own line and not simply being wrapped

Well,

I downloaded the BETA yesterday to test it and help Actinic (I thought) but today it tells me my evaluation period has expired. I also spoke to sales yesterday about getting a key for v8 and got blown away - just like many others.

Chis B. - I understand and support your point of view on not upgrading sites untill after formal release of 8.0.1, but if an experienced (and hopefully trusted) user like me is brushed off in this manner and unable to help with the BETA evaluation, I do not see that Actinic are being proactive in maintaining the community we have built here.

Jont - I cannot evaluate/test your solution, I cannot change any of the existing code, I cannot reupload the test site for you to examine yourself (if you have a working version of one of the v8 pre-releases).

I am still working on the assumption that v8 is still in Beta testing ... there are still so many issues to be resolved for v8.0.1 release it is not worth even contemplating building a site yet that is live to the public.

The hard line approach from Actinic has been felt before - they are a commercial concern so have a position to maintain but to brush off active and trusted members who are assisting to develop and promote their products for no reward (and who want no reward) is a little short-sighted IMHO

I managed to get working again by doing the uninstall, delete the folders left behind, copy the backup site1 folder back in, re-upgrade the site to v8.0.1 and tracked the problem down to a fixed height in css

                 height: 63px;
		}

once I removed that height, then everything flowed as it should. No idea where the height came from.
