Hidden Products & Stock Control

Hi,

I am using the StockLevel varaible in my html and have just found that when you are using hidden products it is useless (because the stock control is turned off on the main one). Should I be using stock control on the main item as well?

If stock control is turned off on the hidden product associated to the choice / permutation, then you will need to turn on stock monitoring for the procuct as well as furnish a stock amount.

Sorry, not making myself clear as always!

Here is an example:

Main Product: Silver Ring (Stock Control Off)
Hidden 1: Size 6 (Stock Control On & In: 1)
Hidden 2: Size 7 (Stock Control On & In: 2)
Hidden 3: Size 8 (Stock Control On & In: 1)
Hidden 4: Size 9 (Stock Control On & In: 0)

In this situation, the StockLevel variable = 0. I am assuming this is because the stock control on the main product is off. Should this be on, and if so, when you buy an item, does it take one stock level of both the main product and the hidden product?
