Column divider and row divider

Hi, if I set 'Column Count For Products' to '2', the layout will be looks like as following, with divier between different rows

product1 product1
-------------------------
product1 product1
-------------------------

How can add a divider between columns, which looks like this?
-------------------------
product1 | product1
-------------------------
product1 | product1
-------------------------

The way to achieve this would be setting a gif image (of a vertical line) as a background in a <div> and setting the CSS alignment to margin: 0 auto; to centre align
