    Thank you !

    Bernard,

In Actinic go to Window | and select 'Resore Initial View Layout', this should get you back to how it is by default.

      Hi Bernard,

Please could you confirm, you cannot get the internal preview to work. If so please could you go into "Help | Troubleshooting", and here click on "Run ActDiagnose", on the new dialog box, click on "Check", save the information into notepad and attach it to this thread. I want to check some details on it.

        RE: Page Preview and Browse

I too am unable to browse and preview (site or page) within Atcinic. I ended up uploading to a test site and reviewing it form there...not ideal. I though it might be something to do with my default browser being Mozilla Firefox and not IE ?.

Would appreciate knowing if there is a bug in this area, or if I need to take some 'corrective actions' with the product config.
        Thanks

          Hi Anthony

That is what I am checking, if you could do the same, as I have asked previously to Bernard please, and what operating system are you running as well. My default browser is Firefox as well here, and I don't have this problem. But will double check

            Hi Nadeem,

I am having the same problem and as you will be able to see from the attached diagnosis it is actually giving a result from a version 7 site whilst reading from the version 8 diagnosis file!

              Hi Owen,

Just to confirm, the internal preview under the content tab, is blank. Shows nothing at all?

              Kind Regards

The preview is not blank. It just does not refresh. I have changed a few things in Dreamweaver and it doesn't refresh.

                  Hi Owen,

Mmm that not what this thread is about. This thread is about the main inbuilt preview in Actinic v8 not showing any pages on preview, which you one is doing. I would suggest in creating a new thread for this issue. By the way, yes the report looks okay and it does contain v8 details, it just furthur down

Hi Anthony or Bernard, Please could either of you do the following and test:

                    Close Actinic
Delete the contents of the folder PreviewHTML.
Open Actinic and check preview is blank.
Use Internet explorer to try to open PreviewHTML\P_index.html, note if the
                    page displays correctly or not.
Send the contents of the PreviewHTML folder to support.
                    Send a snapshot to support

                    Kind Regards

                      Re Preview Errors

                      Hello Nadeem,

I removed my Actinic installation, rebooted and install 8.0.2 directly.
                      - entered license key and restored snapshot
                      - tried previewing / browsing and it still fails. Nothing happens at all

                      - ran diagnose & followed you instructions for p_index (which pointed to the catalogue page and not the home page ?)

                      Attachments attached as requested

                      Thanks

                        Hi Anthony,

Many thanks for that, please could it be also possible for you to email that snapshot you used to communityadmin [@] actinic.co.uk.

For me, the preview pane is blank if I install Actinic v8 (trial) to a non-default location. When I install to the program location suggested by the installer (usually C:\Program Files\...) the preview pane works.

                            Re: snapshot request

                            Hello Nadeem,

I will try and do this in the next 1-2 days. An update on my position.

I also removed Firefox Mozilla browser in case this was causing the problem, but it didn't seem to make any difference.

The Catalog home page and the 'Home page' home page are both called index.html I don't suppose that has anything to do with it ?

The CTRL-A button works, but displays nothing (only shows page compiling), the CTRL-W and Browse buttons do nothing (incase that helps you diagnose the problem ?)

My site is set to Brochure as the homepage, and on the Brochure homepage, the box is ticked to make the home page the Website home page.

When I upload the site it all seems to run fine, and all the links seem to work.
                            Thanks

Thanks for the information, especially with the "CTRL-W" part. Looking into this part as well. Thanks for the update
