When is the next release going to be available?

We are currently on 8.02 and are having some issues that do need sorting, as follows:

On start it takes a good few minutes before we can use Actinic, also takes an age when changing to another site (Business Multisite).

Preview does not update when changing sites.

When deleting a product also takes about 2 minutes before the catalogue is useable again.

And, are there any plans for any more Themes to be released?

    Hi Karl

None of these issues are going to be dealt with in 8.0.3 so we need to find out why your site is experiencing these performance issues. Do you have a lot of products in the site? How many sites do you have? Have you tried doing a 'Housekeeping | Compact Databases' as this can sometimes speed up performance.

If all else fails, our support team may be able to get to the bottom of the problem. You can register an email support question at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm

Have already spoken to a chap this afternoon in support, and has stated basicially what you have said. He also informed me that other people have reported slow start up issues and problems with the preview not being updated when changing sites.

The database had already been compressed on each site so that isn't the issue. on the main site and some replicated ones, there are about 3000+ products plus duplicates. It is only these sites whereby it takes a long time for Actinic to become useable. Swapping to sites with only a few products and it is aok, but swapping from and it's time to put the kettle on.

Will there be any benefit in sending an email to support when I have already spoken to someone, and no resolution was reached?

        Hi Karl,

Are you linking the products to an external database/spreadsheet? I'm wondering because I have extreme slowness with V8 that seems to be related to this.

Hi Karl - are you using Designer or Multi-Site. I just want to try an experiment:
            1. License a new site
            2. Change to the site
            3. Close Actinic
            4. Restart Actinic
I'm just interested to know whether it's the actual application taking an age to load, or whether it's something in your sites that is causing the problem.

Hi - done that, very quick if no products or little products in. Only happens when there are quite a few, namely over 3000.

Also, when hiding and deleting takes about two minutes to process.

              Thanks.

Ah ha - found something out. When deleting or hiding, works very quick if the preview pain is closed, that seams to be what slows actinic down.

How many products do you have in the section that is very slow? I've been playing with a site that has about 200 products in a section, and it is pretty slow to regenerate the preview page.

At the very most 30-40 products per section. However, most are one page per product and will only have at most 6 items. There does not appear to be any significant difference in speed when the preview it open.

Karl - sorry but I have drawn a blank on any further suggestions. You could always raise an email support ticket at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm and see what the team there makes of it.
