    Uploading and testing errors

I'm trying to unload our test site onto our own server.

i've been through the Network setup a number of times and on testing I get the message "The Server Name or Address could not be resolved" during the test section:

    Testing normal settings...
    Testing CGI script settings...

I've attached my URL seeting file (username, password removed)

Incidentally when using the Actinic test site I had no errors.

    Anyone any ideas??

    Thanks

    Mike

In addition to this I have here the results of the test, the file list has been ommitted. The main thing I find a big problem with is the fact that Actinic has managed to find the working cgi-bin of our live website. I have never entered this info into any Actinic setup dialog!!!

The cgi-bin working directory that I *want* it to see would be:
    E:/websites/burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk/shoptest/cgi-bin

Bearing in mind that for testing purposes my FTP connection is set up to go directly to E:/websites/burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk/shoptest/ as the root directory.

(Glad I've got a day off tomorrow, this is doing my head in.......)

Not surprising - the test site preconfigures your store to work with it.
The main thing I find a big problem with is the fact that Actinic has managed to find the working cgi-bin of our live website.
If you run the 'Web Site Configuration' wizard, it's not surprising that Actinic found your live cgi-bin. It won't do any harm to use this - as long as the script id you use for the v8 store is different from the script id you use for any other stores. You can set this in 'Web | Network Setup'.
      message: <YourName@YourCompanyEmail.com>: Relay access denied
Enter your proper email address in 'Business Settings | Company/Contact'. This will get rid of this error.
      CGI-BIN Working Directory: "E:/websites/burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk/public"
This is a problem you sometimes you get on Windows servers - when scripts execute, they think they are executing in the root of the server rather than in the cgi-bin. You can work around this in Actinic by making the 'Path from cgi-bin to acatalog directory' something like ./shoptest/acatalog (i.e. make the path relative to the root of the server.

I'd also suggest you forget about SSL until you get your standard settings OK.

See the attached image for an idea about how 'Web | Network Setup' should look.

          Chris

Ok, we found a snag in that IIS doesn't seem to like subdirectories being used so we set up a complete new site which is accessable now.

It does have new issues.......basically navigation issues which I'm looking into now.

In case you would like to take a look it's here:

We've only got 4 days eval left now!!
