-Click the Breadcrumb to become surrouned by ---
    - in the lower part of the screen click on the link "click here to edit"

Also, all the things that were controlled from Design Options in v7 can usually be set within Settings | Site Options in v8. In the case of the parent section links, go to 'Settings | SIte Options | Layout' and set both 'Top Parent Section LIst Layout' and 'Bottom Parent Section List Layout' to 'No Layout'.

The most important thing with v8 is to read through the getting started guide before you start looking at Design. This will tell you the principles behind the design change, and will help you recognise all the different variables etc. and make the right changes to your design.

Daren's solution is spot on though - (you'll soon realise with v8 there are several ways to do any one single operation)

I'm slowly getting through the upgrade though I have a feeling it's not over yet!!
