product - 2 attributes and stock levels

we want to sell gloves and monitor their stock levels.
they all come in size 8,9,10,11 & 12 and also in black, red or blue.

the normal method would be to create hidden products (individual gloves) and then link the prices/stock levels to those products.

but with TWO attributes, I can't see how to link the stock levels in

I've been playing, and it would be nice to have two drop downs, one is the size and the other being colour but itseems like it may simply be easier to create a single dropdown with Red-8, Red-9, Black-8, Black-9 and so on and then link those to the actual products to control the stock levels

    any suggestions please?

    Hi Kevin

This is dead easy to set up. First of all, create your hidden products such as 'Red-Small', 'Red-Medium', 'Red-Large' etc - one for each combination of choices.

Then create a main product called 'Gloves', then create a component within that called 'Selection' and create two attributes within that called 'Size' and 'Colour' with the appropriate choices.

Then in the 'Selection' component, switch to the 'Permutations' tab and click 'Fill List' and you'll see that a row is created for each combination of choices. You can then associate your hidden products with each combination of choices.

I didn't realise it handles the Red-small, red-medium combinations itself.
if thats the case, its just like any other selection.
