    Running Like a snail

    Hey all,

actinic has all of a sudden started running really slow and sometimes it throws me out to a web page i have just been on (i.e must be open for it to do this) im changing all my image names as i have had a major issue with all my images. Is this a known issue or is there someway to fix this.

    Thanks in advance

A few customers have reported issues with slow performance with version 8. Could I ask you to let me know the following:
    • How much RAM you have on your PC
    • The speed of your processor
    • Whether you are using an external design created in Dreamweaver for your store design
    • Finally, what version of Actinic you are using
Version 8.0.3, due very shortly, will address some of these concerns, but if you let me know the answers to the points above, I'll see whether there are any other ways to help out.

I had this problem when i was testing V7, i didnt quite understand why it was happening and couldnt get technical because it was a demo. I assumed it was the file size for the images but when i checked them, the index page only totalled to 200kb and it was taking over a minute on broadband. When i started the website from scratch using a different theme but same pictures, the problem dissapeared.

          Hi

I have had a similar problem when uploading, what i have found is make sure that you have a product selected and upload when in the design tab, seems to run and upload OK. If i have it set on a product section in the content tab it runs like an old dog

          Cheers

Simon - how many products do you have in your store, and roughly how many are in each section?
