Aditional file upload missing from Actinic Client

I was handing over a V8 site today and when I came to discuss how to add pdf files to Actinic for uploaded I found that the Aditional Files option is not available in Client Catalog. This is a bit of a show stopper for this site as it has multiple pdf downloads for various products which the client needs to be able to update.

Is this feature not available by design or is it a bug????

Hmmmmmm, not sure whether a design or bug, but with set PDFs and word DOCs, used a custom property set to filename and entered it in there, so that Actinic auto uploaded it...

But, would be strange for clients to be additional file disabled as that is not design is it...

This is by design. If you want clients to be able to upload their own files, then you can set up user-definable variables with a 'Type' of 'File Content', and that way, they can select files while they are setting up their products and brochure fragments rather than going somewhere else.

You can also then use this variable within your designs to automatically create links to the download files.
