    Error In Snapshot V8.03

    Hi All

I upgraded to V8.03 and now get errors every time i try and do a snap shot, I have done all the usual compact databases, restart computer e.t.c

The error i get everytime is as follows

File Exportfiles cpp line 573 - The file C:\programfiles\actinic V8\sites\site1\acatalog\stunt_kites.html was not found system error 3 the system can not find the path specified

this error is repeated for all my pages

Anyone any ideas why this has started now

    Cheers
    Darren

    OK

I have added the directory acatalog to my site1 folder and copied a few of the missing files over and that seemed to work, so as there is no telephone support today i hope that Chris or Bruce may have some ideas as to why the snapshot is now looking in the wrong places

    Cheers

      Lonely old thread this one

I guess this is a bug in V8.03, I have just downgraded to V8.02 and everything seems to be working again, snapshot worked with no errors

      Will report it to Actinic

      Cheers

I have exactly the same problem since trying 8.03, but in my case the error is about a file that I have never even created!

(File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 573) - The file C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\paycash1.htm was not found System error 2 - The system cannot find the file specified.

I had thought i was the only person with this problem, glad i am not. Mind you that does not sound very nice as you probably wish i was

Jonathan - check in 'Design | Additional Files' and see if the paycash.htm file is there. You can remove it from the list.

Darren - thanks for reporting this - we'll follow it up.

              Hi Chris,

I've no additional files. I deleted them all before upgrading to v8.

Additonally, I have never created a page called paycash.htm. I'm doubley sure of this because all of my pages are .html extension.

Chris - paycash1.htm is a reference from the actinicextras.js file. Does that help?

In which case, try copying a copy of actinicextras.js from the 'C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Original' folder into your 'Site1' folder. This will give you the latest v8 one and should fix the problem.

                  (thanks Bill)

Thanks, that has solved that problem. I now have a new one.

If I have "Use as website homepage" checked I get this error at snapshot time:

(File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 573) - The file C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\..\index.html was not found System error 3 - The system cannot find the path specified.
It doesn't happen if "Use as website homepage" is left unchecked.

Try doing a 'Web | Generate Web Site' and then try the snapshot again.

The error is benign, so can be ignored if it can't be fixed.

                        Hi Chris

Do you know what happened with this, i reported the bug? but have not had it confirmed. Did anyone manage to repeat the problem?

I am sure it must be a bug because as soon as i downgraded to V8.02 everything went well. I am still holding off on launching a live V8 site and have stopped developement for the time being

As there are a number of issues people are having, bugs and not bugs i guess we can expect to see v8.04 any idea when?

                        Cheers

                            Hi there,

For v8.0.3 I have been investigating these issues with development, and have found a bug which I have used the following steps:

                            1. Licence a new site
                            2. Create a section called "Test Section"
                            3. Create another section called "Test 1"
                            4. Make "Test Section" hidden then move "Test 1" under "Test Section"
                            5. Export a snapshot and it will give you an error message saying
"Errors: (File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 573) - The file C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\v8_Beta2\Test_Section.html was not found System error 2 - The system cannot find the file specified..."
This has been labelled as a bug.

Also one thing to add, 8.0.2 had a bug in exporting a snapshot, where it did not fully includes some of the html files, Upon fixing this in 8.0.3, there is the problem which is Actinic is looking for these html files within the site folder. The only thing would be to copy over those htmls files across, After that you really shouldn't have a problem.

                            Hope this makes sense

                            Kind Regards

                              Hi Nadeem

Thanks for the reply but i am a little confused about it. So what your saying is

create a directory under my site1 folder called "acatalog" then copy all my html pages into this file.

I think i will stick with the 8.02 versions for testing until these problems are fixed, will the PROTX issue be fixed in the release aswell?

                              Cheers
