Thanks to yours (and others) feedback on the 803 beta program, we have identified and fixed this issue with the snapshot, and the new release will be made as soon as possible,
will the PROTX issue be fixed in the release aswell?
    Which Protx issue?

      Hi Chris

Glad the bug has been identified, as with all i guess fixing it is sometimes easier than finding it. The PROTX issue i was refering to came from another post, not bouncing to the server and having to include a manual button. I have to say that on testing last night mine seems to work fine and bounces automatically.

Sorry i guess i might have my wires crossed here.

      Cheers
      Darren

        8.04 still has these issues

I have just upgraded from 8.02 to 8.04 and these problems are still present

        paycash.htm not found

The file C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\..\index.html was not found

the paycash was easily fixed with the fix above

but i cannot resolve the missing home page problem.

guess i will just have to ignore it for now

            Hi guys,

Have come across the same problem

            Errors
(File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 456) - The file C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\..\Organic_plants_for_the_garden_and_allotment___Delfland_Nurseries.html was not found System error 3 - The system cannot find the path specified.
            ..
Running V804, just a pain at this point of development of the test site as I can not create snapshots before making major changes, just makes me nervous!

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

              Organic_plants_for_the_garden_and_allotment___Delfland_Nurseries.html
Is that a genuine page name for your site? Is it supposed to be only one space between Allotment and Delfland?
If so, then where have you a broken link that points to this page?

If you cannot find it, then use Xenu (or similar) on the uploaded website to get a report that identifies the broken link, and the page it is on.

It is the name of the test site allocated by Actinic, unsure where the name is generated from, will have a look, thanks M

Did not find where the name is generated but used Xenu to report, not broken links however, the report does not look like it has covered the test site, is hiden in some way.

Still will not generate a snapshot! M

To get a Xenu report on the test site, you would direct it to yourwebsite /acatalog/test/acatalog/index.html as the starting point for the check.

Once you know what page the broken link appears on, you can go to that page in the content tree, find the product 'Link' tab entry or the fragment with embedded html or whatever that contains the malformed link and reformat the link correctly.

                          http://www.organicplants.co.uk/acata...Nurseries.html

                          1 broken link(s) reported
Which is relating to images which are physically available but V8 is not picking up.

I deleted that image link and still same problem. I do keep my images in a folder in the root directory for the online shop, no problem for some of the products but for others!

See Top picture available the rest not!

                          Any suggestions, M

When you upload from actinic, all the files are placed in the /acatalog/ folder

The one image that is working is referenced in the /acatalog/ folder. The non-working images have filename paths that include sub folders - but Actinic does not create subfolders.

All content will go in the /acatalog/ folder every time you upload. If you want to reference a second copy of your image in a subfolder off /acatalog/ you will need to create that subfolder yourself, and copy the images up to that subfolder using a normal FTP programme.

Note that this will be a waste of online space, because Actinic will continue to copy every image linked in a product/fragment image field etc to the acatalog folder no matter what you do - in both test and production modes.

Hi back on this problem, so putting it simple that Actinic does not cope with folders (did work fine with V7 as in the folders I must admit that I had not looked in the /acatalog/ folder, had no need to, thought I was being very tidy!).

Can you have the images outside Site1 folder and Actinic will load them up or do they have to be in Site1?

We have small number of products 160 or so, how do people cope with all the possible images?

Do you think that the images are messing the snapshot process up?

                                Yes

Actinic has always required the images to be inside the site folder for everything to work correctly. Many people do use subfolders to keep their workspace tidy. Those two facts have led to many confusions and site problems.

It is possible to work with subfolders - it is simplicity itself to work without them.

If the image is outside site1 and correctly referenced, then Actinic will upload it. When you come to snapshot and transfer to another PC though, Actinic will not include anything that is outside the site folder.
