    V8 Upgrade- possible problem with cart?

    Hi All,
    I've upgraded to V8 over the weekend on several sites- what a change! I've a possible problem with my cart on my main site. fairyglass.co.uk. When adding to the cart, the process seems to work, but then when going to checkout or viewing the cart it's empty. However, when checking this on another computer I have, the problem's not there. I've tried deleting cookies and refreshing the site, and am now concerned that perhaps it's not my computer after all.
    Can I ask a few of you to try adding items to the cart and then viewing the cart to make sure it's my computer, not the site? If it's the site, please can I have some guidelines- I've compacted databases and refreshed the site already, and it was fine yesterday in V7.

    empty cart on one PC and not on another could be zonealarm?

      Morning Jo,
      I run Zone Alarm on both computers with the same settings. It could be though, I'll try- did you check to see if the cart is working for you?

        basket did not empty for me, the products are still there in the checkout.

        Try turning off zonealarm on the problematic PCand test again

          V8 possible problems

          I just turned off ZA and checked and it works. So I guess it's a clean install of ZA, despite just having upgraded to the latest version about 2 weeks ago. I've had problems with ZA on other sites also- I can't load pages when selling on Ebay unless I turn it off. It's a shame, as it seems to do a bloomin good job of protecting me from unwanted elements.

            do a forum search on zonealarm to see how others have cured the issue, it is a known problem with one of the latest versions

              clean installs of zonealarm is actually quite difficult, it has a tendancy to retain certain settings even when you apparantly delete the entire installation.
              make sure you search zonealarm forums to find out how to do a complete install.
              Alternativly (and it might be well worth trying), try backing up the settings of zonealarm on the "good" pc and transfer them to the "bad" pc - youv'e got nothing to lose and it may?? cure your problem

                basket problems

                I sorted the ZA issue by reinstalling it- luckily I'd just bought a new 12 month license so had the installation keys to do this.
                I then realised I'd been losing orders today as while goods were visible in the basket the bounce to Protx wasn't working. On checking OCC upgrade folder, I've realised that the encryption key wasn't copied across. This strikes me as pretty strange- surely an upgrade programme should be a seamless change and this sort of detail, which isn't necessarily easy to resolve, should be dealt with? Luckily (again) I had my key stored securely elsewhere so I was able to deal with it, but there have been several customers who have abandoned their orders today as a result of not being able to go to the card page- very upsetting!
