Are shipping charges limited to 2 decimal points?

    Hi guys,

Does anyone know if it is possible to have three decimal points in the shipping charges table?

Mine currently rounds up to two but this means that in some case I will overcharge customers by a penny - I know that might not be the worst thing in the world but it is obvious when you look at the receipt that you are being overcharged and I just don't think that comes across as being too professional!

    Thanks guys,

    Greg.

This also seems to apply to product prices. In order for an item which should be £3.99 inc VAT the net price will have to be £3.3957 as just pricing at £3.39 gives an inc VAT price of £3.98. If you use £3.40 the inc VAT price is £4.01.

So, is there any way Actinic can handle prices to 3 or 4 decimal places?

Greg, I was going to start a new thread but these two issues seem to be related and the solution may be similar.

      Hi Mike,

Completely agree - they are the same problem really.

Does anyone know of a way round this?

This has been a long standing issue with Actinic and there is no easy way round it. I took the stance to change things to £3.98 instead of £4.00 when wanting £3.99 as for any feeds from your site or price comparisons, yours will usually come towards the top of the list as it is a penny cheaper.

The workaround is to have custom vat ie 17.537% which will then get you to the figure you want. This impacts on the reports though then as it will show on the invoices etc. To stop this, you then have to modify the report to not show this custom vat and it all becomes far too complicated.

Short of it (as far as i have been able to find out), this is just one of those characteristics of Actinic that you have to live with unless you want to have a crazy amount of work and maintenance for the sake of 1p.

Just as a matter of interest, doing what I should have done first....look in the knowledge base....duh...

I'll give it a try sometime and see what happens. It looks like the solution Lee came up with but if it only applies to 3 (in our case) prices then it may well be a good enough fix.
