Version 7 Developer Snapshot Import

VERSION 7 DEVELOPER IMPORT QUERY

I have recently up-graded to Version 8. I have an old site that was developed in Version 7 (using basic layout 13), which I'm going to import into Version 8. Will the import cause any major problems?

I believe the best way to this is to import the V7 snapshot and do the upgrade that way. The good thing is that you if it goes badly you can always try again.

V8.0.3 (still in beta) now offers the option when part way through the upgrade process to use one of V8's default designs rather than trying to upgrade the old one.

I much prefer this as it lets you start the design again from a clean slate, but at the end of the day it's up to you.

You could always let it try and upgrade the design first and if that causes problems, then do the upgrade again but let V8 use one its designs instead.

If you're at all worried you might want to wait for V8.0.3 to be fully released.
