every email that is sent from actinic to an aol customer gets bouced

i am sure that we never got this in v7 but it happens every time in v8
    • when the order is placed online
    • any email that we send from within actinic

does anyone else get this problem

our email is done via 1 and 1

    See this thread http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=24303

1and1 have a problem that started about 2-3 weeks ago. It may be more widespread than 1and1 but I have been in touch with them and they should be trying to get it sorted.

Nothing to do with actinic. It's just the timing that makes it look like a V8 problem.

both methods use the same smtp server

just tried it on v7 and i get the same problem

I noticed that in my network setup - smtp

username and password are not selected

as when they are selected 1and1 will not work with actinic

Guess that this is what is causing the issue with aol

The problem with AOL is simply them being AOL, sometimes they will block an SMTP server simply because that server sent out too many emails in a given timespan. AOL then assumes they are spam.

As often as not it is not spam and the host has to enter negotiations with AOL to get their server off the blacklist.

              reverse DNS

              Hi,

There can also be issues with AOL if you do not have reverse DNS set up on the server......... might be worth checking out......
