Site Settings Issue

Hi

I’m really struggling to get my site to upload and I get the following message: -

Your Catalog URL appears to be invalid. The files uploaded to the given 'Path from cgi-bin to acatalog directory', can not be downloaded via the browser on the given Catalog URL. These two access routes don't point to the same destination on the server.

When checking the physical directories on the server the test has created a new acatalog folder within the cgi-bin and put a test file in it.

The server would appear to be configured correctly as: -

• An html index page placed in the root directory for the site is served when the web site is requested by a browser.
• An html index page placed in the cgi-bin is served when requested by a browser.
• A perl script in the cgi-bin can be found and executed when requested by a browser

My settings for Actinic are attached.

Can any one help?

Please edit your post to remove the text file, edit out your mail login details and re-upload if you need to.

Your catalog URL is missing the acatalog/ part.

Not sure why you are using orange.net settings on a 1 & 1 server. A search on 1 & 1 Network settings will return several threads which show successful settings.

Additional Error

I have re-submitted the network settings minus the mail credentials (oops). I was using Orange as a temporary measure because I could not get 1and1 to work. One of your previous posts has now shown how to get that working.

I'm now receiving the following message

Actinic received a request forbidden error from the web server. The server is not properly configured to allow Actinic to run CGI scripts from the cgi-bin. Run Web | Configure Web Site Details... to review your web site configuration

Yet I can execute a cgi script

Forbidden normally means permissions are incorrect

do you have

755 cgi-bin
777 acatalog

if this doesn't help repost the corrected network settings

I'm running IIS 6

The website root and the acatalog folders have the following permissions: -
IUSR User
Modify - Yes
Read & Execute - Yes
List Folder Contents - Yes
Read - Yes
Write - Yes
FTP USER
Modify - Yes
Read & Execute - Yes
List Folder Contents - Yes
Read - Yes
Write - Yes

The cgi folder (physical) has the following permissions: -
EVERYONE User
Read & Execute - Yes
List Folder Contents - Yes
Read - Yes
FTP USER
Modify - Yes
Read & Execute - Yes
List Folder Contents - Yes
Read - Yes
Write - Yes

The cgi-bin (virtual) has the following permissions:-

Thanks for your help, but I'm still not getting anywhere fast, just problem after problem.

I’m going for a complete removal of every component Actinic touches and will start right from the beginning with new installs.
