e- mail issues

Have now beat the CGI thing and am through to email settings
I have entered my smtp server details including username and password but keep getting the following error message.
"An error ocurred while sending an HTTP request to the web server.Perhaps your network is down or the server is down. Try again or contact ISP to correct situation"
Have tried again and contacted ISP who cant see why this part isnt working please help.
What should i enter here

The email server you're entering should be that of your web host, not your ISP (unless the two are one and the same).

Use "localhost" - you dont need anything else

Then its not Actinic, the errors sound like they are at your hosts end.

who is your host and what are you putting in network settings for SMTP?

my host is emnet and in my smtp settings im putting
tony@void-clothing.co.uk
mailserver1.void-clothing.co.uk
username and password

Try using "localhost" with no user name and password.
