Color Scheme Customisation - How do I individually change the colors?

    Hi everyone,

Under themes, the color scheme I am using is all crazy. I have not found any detailed information on what the palette colors do. I am using a Layout Code - Header Area - Nothing in Row 1 - Nav Bar in Row 2.

Palette color 3 sets my side columns, the border for my nav buttons and the text.

Palette 2 sets my logo background and the add to cart button.

Palette color 1 sets the nav bar color and the button color.

I want to individually be able to change these colors but after searching long and hard I still have no idea.

    PLEASE HELP

I got actinic catalog on friday and it is now saturday night. I am having major issues with it due to lack of documentation. The software is absolutly huge but we only get a small book that introduces you to some features. There is also the advanced guide that is not exactly an indepth manual.

I tried searching for reference manuals but there arnt any! I thought this was strange as dreamweaver is so well documented. I can only assume that Actinic withold publishing and limit their documentation in the hope that their telephone support generates more sales.

I moved to actinic from on the hope that building a site would become more easier as it would be better documented. I am really worried that I wont be able to complete the project because of the documentation issue and I refuse to pay for the support.

As part of your purchase price you are entitled to 30 days telephone support which is intended to be enough to get you up and running.

Sadly Actinic has a steep learning curve, V8 is even more of a handful, so 2 days is a drop in the ocean -

But in response to your colour issue I'd turn to the actinicStyleSheet and change the colours there, this will give you more options to change the colour of individual items.

        Understanding the stylesheet

        Hi,

        Thanks for your replies.

Is there a stylesheet explanation sheet that can tell me what each part is? That way I can run down the sheet, find what does what and change accordingly.

I have searched for it but cannot fiind it.

sorry no documentation, I tend to work from the code, ie find the class that surrounds the code in question and then go back to the css

I was using . Their stylesheet was easy to work with. I just download stylesheet.css then go through the documentation to find what I want to change then change the colour #ffffff.

I dont know where to begin with this stylesheet because it has variables instead of #ffffff. I tried ringing the actinic office, but they dont work at the weekend. I havent had any information about the 30-day phone support so thats why I called the office.

            Can anyone help?

I think this must be a standard problem because the colour schemes offered arnt that great.

The variables match back to the colours as defined in Design menu, themes, advanced theme config, colour scheme tab.

you can match these back to the ActinicStyle Sheet

              ie variable called Palette2 = Palette colour2
Text colour = Text and so on.

Either change the colour in the colour config tab or simply replace "palette2" with your chosen colour.

If you want to stick which the groupings of colours just use the colour config tab, if you want to override a colour replace the variable in the stylesheet with your chosen colour at the corrrect definition

Strange - I cannot find any reference on the Actinic website to the 30 days telephone support when buying, its was on there for V7. From the above comment they are not telling buyers about it either - is this a mistake or has the 30 day telephone support been scrapped. If it has been scrapped is the forum going to be flooded with V8 problems???

You can also register a support ticket at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm
