    Remove redundant layout choices?

    Hi all,

V8 seems to be much more flexible when it comes to choosing layouts for certain elements.

My problem now is that we have finished creating our theme but I would like to know if there is any way of removing all of the other remaining choices?

For example, I choose my newly created layout for a particular section but in the layout choice dropdown there can be sometimes another 10-15 layout choices depending on the selected theme.

I would like to stop them from appearing.

I know this sounds a bit fussy but I have colleagues that amend the site and we control what the customer sees as being 'in stock' or 'out of stock' by changing layouts/templates.

I think the vast number of layouts available would confuse them so I would like to condense the choices down to just the ones we use.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks

Design / Library / Layouts / Products / double-click ProductLayout / Values then move the ones you don't want from Layouts Offered... to Available...
This way the're not deleted (in case you ever want them again) but simply hiding.

While on the subject of tidying things up....

As most of our theme was upgraded from v7 we see 'template_name (Upgraded)' all over the place.

Is there any way of removing the upgraded text after each layout? In the database perhaps?

We know it has been upgraded and don't need to see it everytime we open up a dropdown menu.

        Many thanks
