inserting tag into <head> section

Hi - have developed an actinic ecommerce site for customer. He opted to pay only for a shared ssl and so consequently has a v long domain name (unrelated to 'normal' domain name) - found out that we are unable to access any of the stats for this site because of being on a shared server. I notice that google can provide stats but in order to verify I own the site need to insert a tag into the <head> section of the index.html page. How can I go about this - simply by opening the html page in dreamweaver for example? Don't want to go poking around without confirming this as I am afraid of messing things up??!!

Hi Emma,

You would be better doing this in the Design tab Layout Code. Put the information just prior to the </head> section.
