    We are pleased to announce that Actinic v8.0.3 has now been released into full production. This maintenance release of v8 fixes a number of issues compared to previous versions.

    USA Patches & Upgrades

    When will updated be available in the USA? Per a previous post on the board today, I've already discovered one issue - and I'm certain others will follow. How much of a delay should I expect? I'm currently running a v7 store (www.tecins.com) and would like to get upgraded to v8 primarily for the additional security, but can't even try to go live yet with v8.

      Brian at Sure Solutions is currently querying a couple of issues with v8.0.3 which means has not released it yet. It's probably best to check with him for updates on this.

          Same old problem with some new ones to boot

          Just upgraded to US v8.0.3.

          This version is still not usable for me... ($3000 and a month or two later)

          No fix yet for the issue of customer message in component details not appearing. Again, I know I could fix by putting the text from the component details into the HTML, but then when you do fix it, I'll have to take the text out of the details field (so it does not appear in duplicate). I have too many items to go to this trouble (especially multiple times) as the fix is completed.

          In addition to the above old problem, a new one has cropped up. When selecting a component to edit from the content tree, the page preview may or may not jump to that product. About half the time, it jumps to the first product in the group..... Would Actinic consider refunding my purchase price until this version is available in a usable version? I'm still stuck using V7 for my live site...

            I'm afraid 8.0.3 was already out by the time this bug came to light.
            When selecting a component to edit from the content tree, the page preview may or may not jump to that product.
            Could you make sure you have got the following tags in all your product layouts:

            <a name="<Actinic:Variable Name="EncodedProductAnchor"/>"></a>

            This is is the code that allows the page preview to take you to a particular item.

            With regards to refunds, please contact whoever you bought the software from.

              v 8.0.4 - Field still not active or present

              I'm disappointed to discover that the latest patch (8.0.4) still has the glitch I reported previously which makes it impractical for me to convert from V 7. The Customer Message field of the Price tag still does not show up, meaning that I would have to modify the HTML (the suggested work-around) for many of my products.

              * sigh *

              It's been what - five or six weeks since I reported the issue and was promised the next update would have it fixed (two updates ago now...)

                Hi Bob

                Sorry that this problem still has not been addressed. The report came in after 8.0.3 had already been completed, and then on 8.0.4 the decision was taken to concentrate on perfomance and reliability improvements.

                However, I can tell you that this fix is being worked on for the next maintenance release.
