Helllp...new AND old design showing on server

    Hi All

This is driving me nutts....when I first installed V8 and started playing with it I registered a DW design just to see how it worked...once I'd kinda got my head round it I created a new design in DW and registered it with Actinic.

Now the problem is that everything looks fine (ish) in V8 preview, upload it and once again it looks ok with all main links working etc...until you click on the 'online catalogue' link at the top of any of the product sections which takes you to the old design.

    The url is: http://www.horsewize.co.uk

Also i'm not sure if the additional css file is being atached for the navbar, the links should be white...would appreciate someone letting me know if the are red...

    many thanks

Links are red for me. I would use ftp to wipe the server and then refresh with the V8 site.

          Thanks Malcom & Darren

Do you mean I should log onto the server via ftp and delete all the acatalog folder?

I've noticed that some of the 'old' design is still lurking in the sitehtml and sitepreview folders, should I delete these?

Cant understand why the additional css works in the actinic preview but not on the live site once its been uploaded, any ideas?

          Cheers

How are you assigning the stylesheets? Is it included in the additional files?

Trying to view theme.css I get

            Code:
            <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
            <html><head>
            <title>404 Not Found</title>
            </head><body>
            <h1>Not Found</h1>
<p>The requested URL /acatalog/theme.css was not found on this server.</p>

            <address>Apache/2.0.54 (Fedora) Server at www.horsewize.co.uk Port 80</address>
            </body></html>

Aha - you are linking the stylesheet as

              link href="file:///C|/Program%20Files/Actinic%20v8/Sites/Horsewize/SiteHTML/horsewize.css

which is looking for it on your computer - hence the reason it works offline

The outer page needs the links in the format of

                  <link rel="stylesheet" href="horsewize.css" type="text/css">

                    Thanx jont ;-)

I've deleted everything from the server, refreshed the the site and I'm still getting the old design when I click on the 'online catalogue' link fro the product pages...is this something to do with the files in the SiteHtml folder?

                    Many thanks

Ok the links are fixed - I am not seeing the red anymore. The old catalog index must be lurking on the server.

I dont know where it would be hiding, I deleted everything from the server and that pesky old design just keeps coming back...

I've checked the registered design in the libary and thats fine, dont know what to try

Thanks for checking the css is working....thanks to Jont ;-)

delete all html files fromn within acatalog on the server, delete all files from SiteHTML and PreviewHTML within site1

none of this will do any harm and may even help

                            Hi Jo

Did as you said and its still doing exactly the same thing...it must be something in V8 thats retaining the original registered design from DW

Look in the site layout and check that the new layout is being used for all sections
