Upload progress disappeared

I have just gone back through 4 previous snapshots and they are all acting the same. Before saving each of these snapshots, i fully tested on the old domain with V8 in test mode.

I now have the new domain ready to which i can upload in test mode and all is fine, i get each order, the site works as the old one did and all seemed perfect.

What i don't get is why on earth this has only been flagged once i go to production mode. Surely, the idea of test mode is to sort this out long before.

I'm left wondering what on earth test mode is for, if it allows everything to work ok and as it should and then Actinic falls apart once you go to production mode. If the hosting all works fine in test mode, there isn't anything that could then fail in production mode surely? What could be possibly different?

I can't put V8 live on the old domain as the V7 site is still live, this would have helped to eliminate whether its something to do with the new domain.

I'm stumped.

When you switch to test mode, acatalog is changed to acatalog/test/acatalog right? so in theory could i use the old domain settings off the v7 site on the new v8 site and change the destination as test mode does?

Just read yr post, this was my one worry which is hard to check as i do not know whether the new domain settings are ok in production mode. From what you are saying, this is the problem.

Tonight and tomorrow are the busiest days for the v7 site, so i am loathed to touch it to be honest, i guess i could do it late tonight. Suspend ordering on the v7 site, download any orders and then try the v8 site upload on the same settings and just stop them as they start. then reinstate ordering back on the v7 site and then reupload that?

Does that sound viable, or have i missed something?

I started this at 11:00 this morning, haven't stopped working on it since. I've gone past confused, i only signed on for an hour to upload and see the new site, quite incredible.

And i will certainly take it back if it turns out not to be a fault with test mode, but for the time being test mode, test smode.

Sadly not Malcolm, it just means that ive reuploaded it for Jo to access also.

That sitemap is something quite incredible. Little knowledge goes a long way, about 10,000 pixels to the right!

I've used Lee's snapshot, and my network settings and uploaded to the temp space.

One section only, all seems ok to me.

the only difference now is the fact that I only uploaded one section.
