new products - doesn't get rebuilt on update

v8.0.3, trial shops,
I clicked on the "new products" page on my trial shop and found the default books - as supplied with the new install of the products.
so I went into the catalog and deleted all the products and sections from the original install (books, tee-shirts, computers etc) and updated the trial website
when I the "updated" the web site, and checked the "new products", all the OLD products were still there. (books etc)

the only way I could rebuild the new-products was to hit the "refresh web site" button - BUT when the refresh was taking place, I received a message

The following empty product groups have been defined:
Books

- I don't have any books left !
the books have dissapeared but why the message and why not re-build the website on an "update" - surely the new products and best sellers SHOULD be updated EVERY time and NOT JUST when I do an entire refresh

me thinks this is a bug !

It is if you set the preferences in the marketing menu.
