    V8 Cookie Error in Firefox

    Hi,

I am having problems using the search and adding to the basket of this site when using Mozilla Firefox (Version 1.0.6). It works fine in Internet Explorer 6.

I have tested this on several machines in different locations and still get the same error.

The message that is displayed is:

This shopping application requires permission to use cookies on your machine, but this has been denied.

This can be for several different reasons, but they are all under your control:

    - you may have disallowed cookies altogether in your browser

    - you may have the privacy policy in your browser or internet security software/firewall set to a level that stops cookies from being used by this shopping site

Cookies in this shopping application are used to keep track of your cart contents, remember names and addresses when you ask for them to be remembered and, when relevant, keep you logged on.

Cookies are not used in any way that abuses your privacy or security.

Please change your settings to allow cookies either in your browser or firewall. If you choose not to, I'm afraid that we cannot complete your request.

Please click here to return to the catalog.

Note that only Cross Stitch, Tapestries & Threads are actinic categories.

Can anyone shed any light on the problem?

    Thanks in advance.

I've now had various conversations with support and with my web site hosting company and I'm not sure whether I'm any further, but it has been suggested that I should try setting the P3P Policy as 'no compact policy'.

I've done this, so could some of you kind souls with Firefox try placing an order http://www.lifeworkpotential.com to see if this has solved the problem.

        thanks

Doesn't work for me either, FF 2.0.

It may be unrelated but I would check your error file located here:-

                  http://www.lifeworkpotential.com/acatalog/error.err

There are lots of malformed template errors that may be causing the issue. There has been a couple of posts recently on this. Even if it is not causing the error it needs sorted by the looks of it. These look like particularly nasty errors:-

thanks for this even though it's bad news.

I've reported it to support again and we'll see where we go from here.

I really thought we'd cracked it earlier today.

                    What a shame

No as far as i know no one has got this fixed.

Acinic support say this is an ISP issue and my ISP (and at least one other) say it's an Actinic issue.

If anyone else has this problem could they post to say so - it would be good to know how many people are having this problem.

As a matter of interest I too get this error on this site so nothing to do with permissions or fireFox settings.

I'm not sure if I was clear in what I said in my last posting.

What I meant was does anyone else have this problem on their own site or a site they are developing for someone.
