    Random also bought products?

I think this will be a feature request rather than something solvable through current v8 features but here goes.

The also bought list is great but it does have one big limitation in that if there is no sales, or less sales than you have chosen to display (i.e You display 3 also bought products but only 2 other products have been sold with this product) then it leaves a lovely blank space which is fine and does not cause any design issues. It does however make it VERY VERY obvious which products have not been sold on the site. So, is it possible, either now, or by adding the feature, to generate random products for the also bought list when either no sales are found or when less sales are found than you want to display?

I second this - this is a must for us as well.

I think this is important, especially if you add a large number of new products. I have added about 400 products to an upgraded V7 site and it does look a bit odd especially if they are all in similar sections.

Yeah, I love the feature and it makes a great addition to our current product pages. However, I am very wary of using it for these reasons, in the end I think I will probably just run with it but a solution would be excellent.

          Jo,

No sorry, probably badly explained. If you elect to show 3 products but it only has 2 also boughts, it shows the 2 also boughts but leaves a space where the third should be and similairly it would leave 2 spaces if there was 1 also bought and would be totally blank if there were no also boughts. So the coding is fine, it's just an issue of whether we can get it to automatically fill up any blank spaces with random products!

I definately think this would be one for the wish list (after the shipping has been looked at)

This is a great suggestion. I'll pass it onto the team.

                Chris,

Many thanks, no rush so long as it can be done for v8.0.4!!!! Seriously though, this may stop me putting my v8 site live so if it can be done it would be good to know so I can hold off uploading the new version.

                Cheers again!

This won't be done in v8's lifetime - so I suggest you go ahead with the project now.

Chris are you saying the random generation will not be tackled, BUT the correction to the code to not leave empty space WILL be corrected

The code doesn't leave empty spaces. What Dave is referring to is that there are available slots in the grids within his 'Marketing' tabs for his products that could be filled with random products.
