    Duplicate fields in the Page Details pane

    Hi,

    Is anyone else having this issue? Running 8.0.2 on both client and my machine. I've imported a snapshot from a client's machine to make some layout changes. This has worked fine. But...

    I have duplicate fields on certain Page Details now. Here is a screenshot to illustrate what I mean.

    The clients site doesn't have these duplicates. They are only a few fields this occurs on (background image, product layout...) but the same field is duplicated site wide e.g. the "Fragment Layout" field is duplicated for every fragment that was created from the snapshot. New fragments don't have this quirk.

    I haven't exported this back to the client as they are remote and I would rather solve this first then let them see it.

    The other interesting quirk is only the first field works. The second one has no effect on Actinic settings.

    Any ideas/solution/sympathy?

    I've had this too, although I've not noticed it in 803.

    I found that to fix it, you go to the library, find the affected selector and double click, untick the boxes for place of setting and click ok. Reopen the selector and retick the boxes. Note that you may loose some settings doing this, if you have defined values other than use parent.

    Lots of sympathy the first time it happened to me was one of those headbanging on desk moments.

        Now this is proving to be a real pain in the arse! The exact same problem has come up again repeatedly on variables which I have settings other than "use parent", so if I carry out my fix discussed above, I loose my settings. Is this something that has been looked at for 8.0.4?

          I know there are some changes in 8.0.4 to improve the efficiency of the whole area of values assigned to user-definable variables, so there may be some improvements. In the meantime, can I encourage you to register an email support query at http://www.actinic.co.uk/support/register.htm about this.

          The team will be able to figure out what is happening with your data, and fix the issue.
