    Sections:20 products per page

    Hi all,

I am trying to set my products, but having 300 products on one page would not do. Is there a way of splitting the 300 products from a specific section into pages so that you can view the first 20 and then click on page 2, 3, 4, 5 etc for the next 20 images?

Example: Landscape Photography section links to all 300 photos on one page, the small images are clickable to open a enlargement pop-up image, the add to cart button is next to the image. I want to keep it that way but limiting it to 20 items and then next 20 photos on next page.

I have quite a few thousand images which I am selling under different sections so HELP please.

Not sure if this is explained that well, I am not a native English speaker so pardon the twisted explanation.

Francois (oh yeah not French if you thought so)

This is not a standard feature of actinic so is not easily done. Also I would not reccommend having 300 products on one page for several reasons:

the page size will be large leading to download problems
people will get bored scrolling the page
      poor search engine results

Best to break the images down into sections/subsection with 20 in each.

I had a similar problem Francoisjvr but the only solution I could find was to create multiple sub sections each containing 10-20 products. There are details in the Knowledge Base of how you can then simultate paging between sub sections, you'll find it here:

I'd be interested if anybody else had any other solutions?

thanks for the information guys, sorry for the late reply, I was just so busy doing other stuff. I will look into this now and see how I should go about with the code insertion.

          Many thanks

I'm about to attempt to do the same in a database...

... so using the trick linked to in this article, to organise the navigation around the various pages, I will try to split the sections within the database.

I already have an Access database that allows me to place products on many pages, then exports products, duplicate products & sections so they will import into Actinic, but there are WAY too many products in some of the sections.

I'll post back here if I get it working.

A customer of mine has a large amount of products and wants to know if there is some way of splitting them without having to manually create sections. They use a flat file import which also handles stock and can't really divide the sections any further into meaningful names. Is there PHP or Javascript that can do this for version 8?.

As far as I'm aware the only workaroud is the one given in the Knowledge base, but if anyone else has another one please let us know.

                    Why not?

Flat file imports cater for multiple level sections.
